Inspiration is a unique blend, celebrating our delicious Pinot Gris, with a dash of ripe Chardonnay to make a beautifully balanced fizz full of small bubbles and enticing zesty fruit flavours.
Judges’ Comments from IEWA 2019: “Lovely apple crumbley nose and, leesy notes. Fab gentle mouth feel, richness, and acidity. Balanced finish”; “Utterly delicious all round. Lovely depth of flavour, and refined yumminess”; “Great quality and intensity on the nose with classic champagne and structured palate”; “Love it. This is my kind of wine. All finesse”; “Great quality and intensity on the nose with classic champagne and structured palate”
Inspiration is particularly well paired with seafood and Asian inspired dishes, the subtle notes of ginger and citrus bringing out the full flavours of those foods. It is also delightful when drunk as an aperitif.
This vintage, Inspiration 2014, won a Gold Medal at the IEWA 2019.
Inspiration Brut Blanc de Blancs 2013 was the first ever varietal Pinot Gris sparkling wine produced and released in the UK. It has won Gold & Silvers from the UK Wine Awards, IEWA & Drinks Business Global Sparkling Masters in 2017.
Inspiration is our unique English sparkling wine, the only Pinot Gris varietal fizz made in the UK. It celebrates the wonderful, rich ripe Pinot Gris that we grow in our Lakestreet Vineyard. There is a small addition of Chardonnay too from the parcel immediately beside the Pinot Gris, just to lift the finish.
This is an especially delicious wine, subtly flavoured with the honeyed purity of the Pinot Gris with very gentle undertones of spiciness and a whisper of ginger on the finish.
Inspiration is a good example of the top quality innovative wines that are being made by the creative team at Fox & Fox, at their two vineyards at Mayfield in East Sussex.
